Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Shalom Park Policy

Overview:

Your health, safety, and the well-being of our staff, members, and community are of great importance to us.

Shalom Park wants to share how we will safely continue operations.

It is Shalom Park's policy to include the measures we are actively taking to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. You are requested to follow all these rules diligently, to sustain a healthy and safe space of at least 6 feet in this unique environment.

This coronavirus policy applies to all of our employees who physically work on our dock or in the boat, as well as any clients who attend lessons or regular ski sets from our dock.

General public safety measures and hygiene:

Hand sanitizer will be available on the dock for your convenience.  Disinfectant spray will be available by the change rooms and we request you spray the area as you leave.

New occupancy caps: Please only one person or family group on the below ski dock at a time.  No more than 4 people on the large main dock at a time, please respect 6 ft. social distancing. Please arrive no more than 45 minutes before your ski set, keep your gear in one collective area, warm-up away from others, take everything with you that you brought to the lake and try to leave as soon as you are dried off and ready to go.

All skiers will be asked to maintain flow on the dock and leave shortly after their appointment is complete if there is a steady flow of incoming participants.

If you cough/sneeze, please do so inside your shirt if possible, or into your hands. (follow the 20-second hand-washing rule). You can also use the sanitizers.

Avoid touching your face, particularly eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands to prevent from getting infected.

Employees must wash and/or sanitize hands between clients.

Boat safety:

All drivers will remain at 6 ft or greater distance away from the skier at all times.

All boats will go out with (0-1) spotter only and will be staff members only staying at maximum distance apart.

No additional spectators will be permitted in the boat until social distancing measures are lifted.

We will be limiting the number of bookings allowed per hour to ensure that all skiers have enough time to move about freely through their appointment.

Client cancellation policy due to illness: If you have a fever, no matter how gradual, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.

If you have cold symptoms, such as cough/sneezing/fever, or feel poorly, please STAY HOME. You will not be charged a late cancellation fee – we just ask that you call us as soon as possible.

If you have a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, you can return to our facility only after you’ve fully recovered, with a doctor’s note confirming your recovery.

If you’ve been in close contact with someone infected by COVID-19, with high chances of being infected yourself, please consider the safety of your fellow skiers STAY home.

Tournaments and events:

As of now all tournaments and events are pending reclassification, rescheduling or cancellation, dependent on government guidelines and Water Ski Wakeboard Canada’s (WSWC)

Further details will be released as to what events may be able to continue, and if so the strict guidelines we will abide by keeping all participants safe.

COVID 19 has presented all of us with challenges we have never seen before. It’s important to consider that any of the adjustments we are making today, may need further adjustment tomorrow.

It is recommended that you check back on this page regularly as it gets updated according to Provincial and Federal guidelines. We may adjust any of the above policies if they are not working well enough or causing other issues within our workplace.
